highly recommended!
The basic freestyle course by Frank Huisman (tri-experience) is a well-thought-out course . tGood for beginners, but also valuable for advanced swimmers who want to return to the basics. The exercise videos clearly show what you need to do yourself, with the right emphasis on the points where things can go wrong.

FAQ

Yes. This freestyle swimming course is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced swimmers looking to improve their technique. You’ll learn the fundamentals of efficient freestyle swimming, including body position, breathing, balance, and stroke mechanics. The step-by-step video lessons and pool workouts make it easy to progress at your own pace and build confidence in the water.

Absolutely. The course is specifically designed for adult swimmers and triathletes who want to improve their freestyle swimming technique. You’ll learn how to swim more efficiently, improve your breathing, reduce drag, and build endurance in the water. Better technique can help you swim faster while using less energy, leaving you fresher for the bike and run sections of your triathlon.

Freestyle swimming can be challenging for adults, but it is a skill that can be learned at any age. Many swimmers struggle with breathing, body position, or stroke timing, which can make freestyle feel tiring and inefficient. By focusing on the fundamentals of freestyle technique and practicing the right drills, most adults can improve their swimming efficiency, endurance, and confidence much faster than they expect.

To improve your freestyle swimming technique, focus on body position, breathing technique, and stroke efficiency. Small technical mistakes can create extra drag and make swimming feel harder than it should. By learning the correct freestyle mechanics and practicing targeted drills, most swimmers can improve their speed, endurance, and confidence in the water. Our course provides step-by-step video instruction to help you swim faster with less effort.

Sinking legs are usually caused by a poor head position  If you look too far forward, your hips will drop. Try looking at the bottom of the pool (about 1–2 meters ahead). Additionally, think about “pressing your buoy” (your chest) down into the water, which naturally levers your hips and legs toward the surface.

In the online course Freestyle Basics 1 and the Freestyle Kick Course you will find lots of drills and workouts for a correct freestyle kicking technique and how and why to regulate and adjust kicking frequencies

The main reason swimmers get out of breath is holding their breath underwater. Instead of holding it, focus on a continuous, relaxed exhale through your nose or mouth as soon as your face hits the water. This prevents CO2 build-up, which is what causes the “panic” feeling. Your inhale should be a quick, natural breath when your head rotates.

In the online course Freestyle basics 1 and the Breathing Course you will find a lot of breath timing drills, timing the breath in the freestyle stroke and why and how to use different breathing frequencies.

Many swimmers start to feel more comfortable and efficient in the water within just a few weeks. By focusing on the right drills and technique corrections, you can often improve your body position, breathing, and stroke efficiency in 4–8 weeks. Consistent practice is the key to swimming faster, using less energy, and building confidence in the water.
